Why Business Integrations?

In today's dynamic world of mergers and acquisitions, and with organizations preferring diverse and specialized functional systems, integrations are the wheels that drive businesses.

Status of Integrations today

The first generation of Integrations was built on proprietary technology, required extensive customization and had a long implementation cycle. Integration of two applications required unique connectors causing the development effort required to increase exponentially with the number of applications involved.

The Future of Integrations

Enterprises are predominantly heterogeneous and distributed having a wide array of partner systems and legacy systems. Information is exchanged in various formats and semantics. The market demands a standardized solution to develop and integrate applications and businesses across an extended enterprise structure. Such a scenario requires a solution that is location transparent, communication transparent, hardware neutral, platform independent and uses a standard format for information exchange.

EPM provides all these features and is a comprehensive solution to the distributed and heterogeneous structure of an enterprise.

What is Distributed-Enterprise Manager (D-EPM)?

D-EPM , an implementation of Distributed Enterprise Architecture (DEA) provides a mechanism to integrate applications and/or business processes across enterprises. It brings together the applications of Customers, Suppliers and Manufacturers. It is the ultimate solution for Point-to-point, Hub and spoke and Peer-to-Peer based integrations. It encompasses B2B, B2C, Collaborative e-Commerce and any other similar form of data interchange between enterprises and/or entities.

The EPM Architecture

EPM is a 100% JavaTM solution and has a web-based user interface that provides access to the complete functionality of the EPM. This makes EPM a truly platform independent solution that can be configured or used from anywhere on the Internet.

The EPM Advantage

EPM is a framework specially developed to facilitate easy integrations between OEM and distributors. This framework also enables readymade features for B2B and B2C interfaces. EPM has 56 built in adapters for ready made integrations with systems like Fedex, ERPs, NAFTA etc. The EPM framework is an umbrella that encompasses the varied applications that need to be integrated.

Processes can be defined in a distributed fashion with components of different applications seamlessly linked into a single process. Roles can be associated to users to perform specific tasks or maintain user defined processes. The EPM framework also provides among other features, a set of configurable, extendable and programmable set of connectors that can used to interface with a very diverse set of applications.

EPM has been proved to achieve an uptime of almost 100% by virtue of a relocation manager and synchronization component which moves the entire running instance of one EPM instance from one physical server to another one in case of a failure. The relocation process is completely transparent to the enterprise application.
