The
Business Case
As part of their Total Cost Down Project
(TCDP) Tokyo Electron embarked on
Distribution Support Services (DSS),
a decisive initiative to recognize
inventory transactions in real time,
improve inventory accuracy and increase
productively by systematically automating
critical business processes. The key
objectives of this initiative were
- Improvement
of operational efficiencies from
receipt to the shipment of goods.
- Improve the
quality and accuracy of inventory
transactions.
- Real time tracking
of inventory.
- Establishing
a paperless lean operation.
- Tracking progress
of Inventory operations in Real
time.
- Establish a
closed loop distribution system
by using operational feedback to
improve performance in the future
.
Tokyo Electron,
made it very clear from the onset
that the purpose of the DSS initiative
was not aimed to define IT but to
define the warehouse process. Tokyo
Electron choose E-Emphasys Technologies
to be their prime partner in this
initiative, recognizing the complexity
of the project and understanding the
business experience e-Emphasys had
in implementing similar solutions
in the past at other customer sites.
The
Solutions
e-Emphasys Partnered with Tokyo Electron
and to implement e-Data Collect, a comprehensive
automated Data collection that uses
latest technologies and at the same
time is very use friendly.
Sayam
Bagade, President e-Emphasys Ltd,
Japan said "We knew that
the Data volume in TEL sites presently
live or in the process of going live
will be very large. Under these circumstances,
was of primary importance that we
designed a solution that would ensure
most efficient response time. As e-DataCollect
is the shortest and most reliable
path to increase enterprise productivity,
we were confident of increasing productivity
and at the same time improving efficiencies
of operations.. It provides a complete
framework to develop, deploy and manage
mobile enterprise applications".
