The Business Case

Invensys decided on incorporating Shared Service Centers to manage the finance of each of their sites. The Shared Service Center provides financial services for each of the local sites (manufacturing plants/ sales offices/ distribution centers). It was decided that some of the local sites will migrate to BaanERP as soon as possible. Other local sites would continue to stay on their existing legacy systems for a couple of years. The model for Stand Alone Finance was developed in a way that it can run in a stand alone and (simultaneously) integrated mode.

The scope of this project involved modification to the standard BaanERP Finance application, in such a way that the Finance application can run without a direct integration with any BaanERP logistical application. In order to make the concept working for the Shared Service Centers the local site systems were also required to be integrated with the Stand Alone Finance application.

Invensys and Baan Choose e-Emphasys to work with them on the major Integration project keeping their proven integration skills in mind.

The Result

e-Emphasys Closely worked with Baan and Invensys to develop a solid integration framework that allowed Invensys to decouple their Financial System and also integrate it to external legacy systems.

Poly Hudson, Shared Services Director, Invensys Power Systems Division remarked
"I was especially impressed with how quickly the e-Emphasys team was able to meet a very tight deadline on the Stand Alone Finance Project. The OpenWorld architects and developers that you brought on the project were of the highest caliber. Given the start and stop of this project and the extremely tight deadline, I am truly amazed that this team was able to come up with such a good product."

Bharat Khuti, Global SSC IT Manager, Invensys Power Systems Division said "e-Emphasys Technologies, Inc., was able to meet deadlines and deliver very high quality work. I am most grateful to the exceptional team members for their support, commitment, and integrity, which made them a genuine part of our own product teams and key contributors to the success of our Stand Alone Finance Project. Based upon this experience, I would be pleased to recommend e-Emphasys Technologies, Inc. to any organization requiring the type of high quality, responsive system integration services that they provide. I would also be willing to speak with any prospective client as testimonial to my positive experience with e-Emphasys Technologies, Inc."

e-Emphasys Project Manager said that the Invensys Shared financial centre works huge volume of transactions at frequency intervals coming from various touch point. We had to design an architecture that was inherently strong to handle complex integrations. We are happy that we could come up with a solution that fit in perfectly with the requirements of the Shared Service Centre.
